ANNOUNCEMENTS

Parent Information Night : Tuesday, August  17th beginning at 7:00 p.m. This is a mandatory meeting for all new families and an optional meeting for current families. We encourage everyone to attend! This is an Adults Night Only. Thank you for understanding.

Ice Cream Social :Thursday, August 19th from 5:00-7:00 pm  for the children and families. At this event, the children may bring in their school supplies, find their classrooms, and reconnect with friends! This is a very casual event and you may arrive any time between 5:00-7:00 pm. There is no agenda to this event.  We find it to be a great way for the children (and parents alike) to ease any anxiety they may have regarding the start of the school year!

A Special Honor for a Special School

The Hutson School is 1 of only 10 schools in the United States accredited by the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators

Our Mission

The Hutson School is a comprehensive day school dedicated to educating and equipping students with language learning differences to become competent and confident life long learners. The school is designed to provide an environment that nurtures each child's development, builds upon his/her individual strengths, and offers remediation in areas of weakness.

First Ever Dyslexia Awareness Ribbon

Original design by Student Council members Cheyenne M. and Ruby T.

  • The gray background and chalk letters represent schoolroom's chalkboard.
  • The upper case L in the word dyslexia represents Living and Learning with dyslexia.
  • The backwards e represents the Effort and Energy it takes for a dyslexic to decipher written communication.
  • The multi-colored chalk represents that among the confusion of written letters and numbers, dyslexics find happiness and humor in their dyslexic moments.
