The Hutson School accepts students who exhibit difficulties achieving their potential due to language learning differences. These differences make it difficult for the student to read, write, spell, compute, organize, and comprehend, despite adequate intelligence and conventional instruction.

The Hutson School application packet includes an application form and a checklist of documents to be returned with the application. The checklist includes:

After the items listed above have been reviewed, the parents will be contacted for an interview. The Admissions Office will then determine if the child is an appropriate candidate for The Hutson School's program. The student will be scheduled to visit the Hutson School for a minimum of one day. Following the visit the parents are notified about the student's status as an applicant.

If it is determined that our program is appropriate for the child and have no available openings at the student's grade level, the child's name will be put on a waiting list. The date the application is received determines the child's position on the waiting list.
