Turning the Tables: Why
Hutson is the Place to go
Dr. Chris Kraatz,
Senior Lecturer in Philosophy
Indiana University – Purdue University
Indianapolis
I've been a university instructor since 1989,
and have had the opportunity to serve as an instructor/faculty
member at five of Indiana's more well known institutions of
higher learning; Purdue University, Depauw University, Indiana
University Kokomo, Ball State University, and Indiana University – Purdue
University Indianapolis . I can no longer keep count of how
many students I've been blessed to work with since 1989 – many
thousands perhaps. In my experience as an educator, I've had
to become acquainted with a variety of what we are now calling “learning
differences.” It is interesting indeed how our language struggles
to keep up with our growing understanding of these conditions – as
we identify new learning differences, we find it necessary
to give them names. There may well be learning differences
that we've not yet recognized, and consequently we have as
yet no way of referring to them by name.

"My heart brims with both pride and
excitement over Drew's accomplishments. I see an excitement
in his attitude towards writing. Don't even get me started
about his expressionism and increased fluency in reading-or
his desire to push forth in Math-or the leaderships skills
he is developing in student council and in Chip's classes-or
his computer skills and love of science with Mrs. Ragsdale-or
his continued love of history as he digs deeper with Mrs.
Smith! I could go on and on! Karen S. (mother of Drew)

" In the past, returning to school had always been difficult for my daughter and she had terrible feelings of dread. However, this year returning to Hutson, my daugher was actually "excited" to come back to school. It has been a very long time since I have seen that glimmer of excitement in her.I think a large part of that goes to you!!!"

"Thank you for all your efforts with my little one. There
is a 150% turn around in her approach to school and homework. We
couldn't be happier. God Bless, JWoods" |
