As far as what Hutson did for my son, how about everything. As his mother, I will say Hutson gave his self esteem, self confidence and the tools he needed to continue his education. When Michael entered Hutson he thought
he was "stupid" because he was a failure at St. Matthews. You were able to determine what he had "missed" the first years of elementary school. With the Orton education, he learned how to read and build his confidence.
I can say now, that I wished we had never left Hutson!!! Your school is fantastic!

I've been a university instructor since 1989, and have had the opportunity to serve as an instructor/faculty member at five of Indiana's
more well known institutions of higher learning; Purdue University, Depauw University, Indiana University Kokomo, Ball State University, and Indiana University / Purdue University Indianapolis . I can no longer
keep count of how many students I've been blessed to work with since 1989 ; many thousands perhaps. In my experience as an educator, I've had to become acquainted with a variety of what we are now calling learning
differences. It is interesting indeed how our language struggles to keep up with our growing understanding of these conditions; as we identify new learning differences, we find it necessary to give them names. There
may well be learning differences that we've not yet recognized, and consequently we have as yet no way of referring to them by name.

The teachers at Hutson are amazing, warm, caring, smart and generous people. Parent teacher conferences used to completely stress me out. And after speaking with several other parents, before coming to Hutson, they
too felt the same way. At Hutson we know that our children are truly loved and valued. I used to have to go to conferences with not only a multitude of questions but had to beg for straight answers. Many times
to be told they couldn't or wouldn't help or that we(the parents) were the ones that had to figure out the method to help our child, even though they were supposed to be the professionals. At the Hutson conferences
most of my questions are answered before I can even ask, and all my questions are answered. Most often steps to correct a need have already been started before the conference or are implemented immediately after.
The Hutson teachers know each of their students so well! I am always impressed and amazed at their professionalism and knowledge of teaching. They always strive to reach each students full potential. Their "goody-bag"
of instructional tools and interventions never seems to have a bottom. Parent teacher conferences used to be something I dreaded, but now I look forward to them. This is all because of the amazing teachers at
